Trying to Contact James Brausch about Rasof Subscription

Hi James, I’m trying to reach you via this blog post. Let me explain:

Last Friday, late in the afternoon, our bank issued us a new set of the debit cards which we use for expense accounts. Unbeknownst to us, and without any notice, they also cancelled all our old cards.

Monday we scrambled to update the payment information in several dozen accounts: Adwords, Yahoo Search Marketing, MSN, Ask, Adbrite, etc, along with the Paypal account we use to pay for Rasof. We also contacted James on Monday to ask him to allow us to update our subscription information, which had automatically cancelled after 3 failed tranaction attempts over the weekend.

What is Rasof? Developed by James Brausch, the creator of Glyphius which is a great piece of software, Rasof is an interesting SEO factor analysis service we signed up for a few months ago. We haven’t had a chance to use it much yet, as the software is fairly complex, and it does not include any instructions, documentation, or help files of any kind. A video guide to a related product is included for reference. With this reference and our own SEO experience, we think we can make Rasof work, and we believe it will be valuable to us.

We have been paying $100 a month for the last 3 months just to maintain our subscription to Rasof, and to allow us time to learn to use it.

So why we have been paying that subscription fee months before we actually plan on using it? James Brausch uses the time-tested method of dramatically raising the price of his products after a deeply discounted introductory offer. Rasof is now selling for $1,000 a month.

Why am I posting all this on a blog instead of just contacting James about it? It’s because we have had no success contacting him so far, and as far as I know, a trackback on a blog is the only way to reach him. We have attempted to contact him numerous times through the email link provided by paypal, but we have gotten no response.

To make a long story short…. James could you allow us to update our debit card information and continue our subscription to Rasof at the same price?

  1. First you say you contacted James. Then you say you can’t contact James.

There is only one way to contact him. You have to be a magical email address customer. The url to the magical email address program is http://www.jamesbrausch.com/magic.html

As far as I know, James never increases the price of any subscription for current subscribers. In fact, he simply can’t. Paypal has no way to do that.

If you aren’t a current subscriber, then tough… Why would you get to pay any less than any other new subscriber?

Whining on a blog isn’t going to get James or anyone else to drop everything and set up a special product page just for you to pay a lower price than everyone else has to pay. Why would you post such a request?

  2. Shelley,

We were subscribers for the first three months as described clearly in the blog post. Our subscription was cancelled due to 3 failed transactions.

The point is not whether James should setup a special order page for us. It is whether he offers any level of customer support with his products. Should his customers all have to pay $900 a month to get any sort of customer service? What if there was a malfunction that overcharged us? Would we get any sort of customer service then?

Anyone who is in business for themselves knows that customer service is one of the most important elements to running a successful business.

  3. Sounds like Shelley is a brainwashed acolyte. While Brausch has some interesting products, his customer service sucks. Rotsa ruck. It will be only a short time before that catches up to him. He’s running on momentum. See my site, for example, and my blog linked from it.

  4. I have RaSof. I am not going to renew. Why? I will post an update on my website and/or blog, within a few days.

These include my thoughts on why he set price at $1000.
(Hint: It’s NOT because it is worth it)

Did you ever manage to get this resolved? Any tips on getting through to support?

I purchased rasof a few months ago and now the page to access the service is offline. There is no response to support emails I have sent.

  6. Hi Paul,

No, I never got this issue resolved. I actually got a bunch of nasty comments from some Brausch acolytes.

I never received any official response from Customer Service. As far as anyone can tell James Braush has no customer service.

    What’s your experience with him?

  7. As per my post - that is my only experience to date. I would like to use his software. Now I´m wondering how that is going to happen if the link is dead and support emails go answered.
